Mazarin Foodies 2014
The Mazarin team has proven over and over, that they are versatile in their skill set. Mazarin Foodies 2014 was held on 7th August 2014, organized by the ClubM Vice Presidents for the months of July/August 2014, proving their culinary expertise and lengthening yet another such skill.
Mazarin Foodies was organized from the beginning to give a different and challenging experience. Thus, the two selected teams chose between food themes that they are usually unfamiliar with. Team A chose to cook in the theme of Thai food and was appropriately named as “Thai Sutra”. Team B selected the Italian food theme and was named “Non Sappiamo Cucinare”.
Both teams were required to prepare full course meals in their respective themes which consisted of a welcome drink, a starter, main dish and a side dish. The dessert was made as a competitive timed event which was held parallel to the main cooking event.
On August 07th, the day of the event, both teams were ready with the cooking equipment and all the required ingredients. The event started at 4:30 p.m. In the dessert making timed event, teams were required to prepare a “Pineapple Delight” which was a layered pudding by following the instructions in a given recipe within 45 minutes. Both teams successfully made the dessert in the given time.
Cooking a full course meal in 3 hours for 15 people was no easy task. Both teams delegated different parts of the meals to their team members to make the task at hand easier. Everyone was excited and worked hard to prepare the meal. Keeping with the Mazarin culture, they didn’t forget to have fun in the process too. All throughout the preparations, the teams were evaluated for team work, cleanliness and organizing skills.
At the end of the day two wonderful meals were prepared by the teams. The meals were presented in five star presentation. It was a complete spectacle of good smelling food that looked fabulous. Both courses were equally well prepared and tasted wonderful. Everyone enjoyed the meal and was overjoyed to see how their efforts paid off.
Incredible hard work and team spirit of both the teams resulted in a successful Mazarin Foodies event that proved the Mazarin family has what it takes to be good at anything.
